Shelter in a Box for Shelterbox 22-23 May 2015 (Start of Half Term)

We've been hearing so much about man made disasters recently, we've tended to forget there are still natural disasters taking place. Shelterbox support both and so far this year have sent equipment to the conflict in Cameroon, an earthquake in Colombia, the cyclone in Vanuatu (nearest island to Tuvalu who's scout camped with our Explorers in 2012), the floodings in Madagascar and Malawi and the conflict in Gaza.

It's about time we did our bit and raised some money for a new Shelterbox. On Friday 22nd May we'll be meeting at the normal time but at Melverley village hall. You'll be sleeping overnight in the field outside covered in cardboard and newspaper just like many of the people whose homes have been destroyed. We'll be leaving at 10am on Saturday morning.

There are two scouts fast asleep under this pile of rubbish, and it rained all night!
We need to raise £590 to buy a box, last time we did it in 2013 we raised £737, can we beat that this year?
We are hoping each scout can raise a minimum of £25
Start collecting sponsorship as soon as you can and let me have the camp permission form by May 8th too.
